Plan / Design Evaluation

PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
Three ideas :
* Put lots of pictures
- pros -
it will make it more interesting
-cons-
it will be difficult to find interesting pictures that relate to the objective.
* Give a Brief explanation
-pros-
it wont be too boring and make the 6th grader feel uninterested right away.
-cons-
i may miss out on important information that was needed/ required
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
I chose to demonstrate the design cycle using prezi and creating a video, because i like creating stuff that include transitions and the prezi website really caught my attention.
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
Yes, because my orject is going to explain and teach the design cycle process (and that is what we are supposed to do.)
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
I  made a Gant chart, which will lead me & tell me what is it that i have to do every day. By doing this orderly, I will be able to finish my project in 12 days as planned.
 REFLECT on your learning
I think that if i follow my plan correctly, my product will come out as a satisfying creation.

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.

I am creating a video explaining the design cycle, using Smilebox . The reason I am making this is because that's the assignment for this class.

Formulate a Design Specification

11. What are the requirements for this assignment?

The Requirements are:
- To make it Quick and to the Point.
- For it to be clear and understandable
& - That it's explaining All the Design Cycle Step.

12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?

The limitations for this Project is the time Because we are only given Two Minutes to Present what we've Created .

13. How will you "test" your project?

I will ask the 6th graders on their opinion and what they learned from the Design Cycle Project, and determine by their answers wether i did a good job or not on what  i taught (The Design Cycle) . For example, make them list every step from the Design Cycle, and write in each what it contains/ what the steps mean.

Design Specifications

* it's going to be brief, but at the same time with enough information.
* it's also going to be interesting enough so it'll catch the 6th graders' attention and actually make them WANT to learn about the Design Cycle.
* the video will be short and to the point, and not go too much out of it. (of what they'll be learning about)
* it's going to be clear and make it easy for them to remember all of the steps of the Design Cycle.

INVESTIGATION REFLECTION .

1-2 (60/70). I didn't really keep up with all the assignments of the project, so i didn't really do a good job at what i did get done . I don't even know if I did EVERYTHING i was supposed to do . I think if I would of been more attentive and quicker in doing the assignments in their correct dates , &  kept up with the class, i would of done better.

INVESTIGATE - 2 video websites.

My two sources which I picked are - Smilebox and Clipgenerator.

* Smilebox : you add your own photos, videos, words & music. Smilebox lets you be as creative as you want. Smilebox is a fun place to explore what you can do with your photos and videos. It's quick and easy.

* Clipgenerator :  You can compile online videos quickly, easily, and free of charge. It can be used to compile professional slide shows from your own photos, texts, and your favorite music - within seconds and without downloading software or going through any registration process.

* I chose Clipgenerator at first because you can use whatever music you would like to use and you're not limited. also, you can add as many photos as you like. Another reason is because it seems more appropiate & a better website for creating what i'm going to create - a video. But since Smilebox allows you to do the video longer (the duration of the video is longer), I've decided to use Smilebox instead.

INVESTIGATE - rating table.

SMILEBOX
MEASUREMENT
SCORE (1-10)
# of photos
10
Length of video
10
Music Options
10

clipgenerator

MEASUREMENT
SCORE (1-10)
# of photos
8
Length of video
5
Music Options
7

*The reason I rated smilebox a 10 for everything is  because you can put any amount of number of photos, the length of time of the video is not limited, and you can add any music you want.

*I rated Clipgenerator an 8 for the photos because you have to upload them. I put 5 for the length of the video since they are limited. For example some of them are only like 60 seconds long.  The music options I rated it 7 because you have a limited number of music options, yet I still rated it sort of highly because the music options are some that I like.

design cycle project

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? You can use the design cycle to create almost anything.  It also keeps you organized.
3. How will this project serve my community?
4. How can my learning help my community?
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
6. How does this help others?
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
8. What is the Design Cycle?
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?

20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)
